Your First Orthodontic Visit at Gather Orthodontics
Why the Initial Orthodontist Consultation Matters?
The first visit is designed to answer the questions most patients and parents have, such as:
What orthodontic issues are present, if any?
When is the best time to begin treatment?
What type of treatment will work best?
How long will treatment take?
What will the investment in treatment cost?
By the end of your consultation, you will have a clear picture of your treatment options and next steps.
What Happens at the Exam?
If treatment is recommended, we will use diagnostic records to determine the best type of treatment and when treatment can start.
What Are Diagnostic Records?

Diagnostic records allow us to create a customized treatment plan. They typically include:
Digital study models of your teeth
Panoramic and cephalometric X-rays
- Tracings and growth assessments
These tools give your orthodontist a complete picture of your smile and help determine the most effective path forward.
Understanding Your Investment in Orthodontic Treatment
Every smile is unique, which means treatment costs vary based on the complexity of the case. During your consultation, our treatment coordinator will:
Review the estimated cost of treatment
Discuss available payment plans to fit your budget
Explain how your insurance benefits can lower out-of-pocket expenses
We are committed to making orthodontics affordable and accessible for every family.
What Your Investment Includes?
Your investment in orthodontic care comes with comprehensive benefits:
Complete orthodontic records: X-rays, study models, and growth analysis
Active treatment: Braces or Invisalign treatment, appliances, office visits, and procedures performed in our office
Durable appliances: Designed to last through your treatment period when used as instructed
Final retainers: Provided for patients at the end of treatment
Please note: Replacement fees apply for lost or damaged appliances and retainers.
What Your Investment Does Not Include?
Your treatment fee does not cover:
Dental work performed outside of our office
Treatment adjustments required due to outside accidents, injuries, or complications
Additional surgical procedures, such as orthognathic surgery, if needed
Insurance and Benefits
We want to make your orthodontic experience as easy and stress-free as possible. Our office accepts assignment of benefits for most insurance plans, which helps lower your out-of-pocket costs. If your plan doesn’t allow direct assignment, no worries! We’ll still handle the paperwork for you so that you can maximize your benefits. If your insurance changes at any time during treatment, just let us know. We’ll update your financial plan and make sure everything stays accurate and easy to manage.
Office Hours and Appointments
We value your time and strive to see every patient promptly. Each appointment is scheduled to allow for:
Completion of the necessary procedures
Updates on your progress
Time to answer your questions
